Week 3 – visits and muffins

Sylvia crosses the Thames

Today we took Sylvia for a nice long walk down to the Thames Festival. She slept through it all of course but we enjoyed it. We saw the last few boats completing the race from Richmond to Island Gardens and there were lots of crowds and entertainments on the south bank.

Sleep, what sleep?

The last 2 days have gone by in a sleep-deprived daze. Yesterday we had a surprise visit from Sylvia’s great-uncle (?) Frank and then we ventured into Covent Garden to visit Gap Kids and the London Transport Museum shop. Later we met some of my work folk at the Lamb for a drink.

Rock-a-bye-baby

Looking at that face you could not believe the noise she makes at 1am in the morning. I am writing this at 1.23am and Sylvia has now been quiet (but not quite asleep) for 18 minutes … which seems like a long time!
I wasn’t going to write anything tonight but as I’m up I may [...]

Sylvia got plenty of sleep during the day before and so decided to test mummy and daddy’s resolve by waking hourly through the night for feeds and to be generally grumpy. Bless. Mummy has started hallucinating!
